On June 9, 2016 Green Alternative together with partner organization – Lithuanian Fund for Nature- organized workshop dedicated to nature conservation and sustainable forest governance issues in Georgia. The workshop took place in Hotel Tbilisi Marriott. 27 participants including specialists from MENRP, NFA, APA, Biodiversity service, NGOs, private sector, donor organizations and academic institutions took part in the workshop; Experts made presentations about implementation of Habitat and Bird directives in Lithuania, experience of Lithuania regarding implementation of NATURA 2000 before and After Accession to EU, also about Emerald network project in Georgia. Participants discussed compliance of Georgian legal acts with EU nature conservation legislation and possibilities for improvement of the draft legal acts.
The workshop was a part of the activities of project Institutional capacity building in the area of environment protection and climate change. Project is funded by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania and implemented by Lithuanian Fund for Nature and Green Alternative.
